FROM CONSTANT CRITICISM TO SELF-ACCEPTANCE
Our ability to love and accept ourselves affects all spheres of our lives. We all know that we should love ourselves, but how to do it, this question is mostly not anwered.
Most of us feel more hatred than love. We judge, reject ourselves, perceive ourselves as inadequate, worthless, not important and definitely imperfect. We remember what we did not do. We feel guilt and shame. We think we do not deserve something good. We want to change ourselves and we work hard to do so. We blame ourselves for every imperfection. We are often worse than our worst enemy without even realizing it.
Instead of healing the wounds that are behind our disapproval, we turn our attention to others, hoping to find acceptance there. We do thousands of things just to make us feel better. But whatever we do, it never has a long-term effect.
However, somewhere it is possible to see our own uniqueness and perfection. It is possible to accept ourselves with all that is us, all that is human. It is possible that understanding and compassion prevail. It is possible to find peace in connection with our beingness and all its manifestations. It is possible to deal with internal critics and judges. It is possible to find forgiveness for our own mistakes. It is possible to accept ourselves with it all.
